Accessibility

How this site is built to be used

A disability support provider with an inaccessible website is telling on itself. This page sets out what we have done, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when something blocks you.

The standard

WCAG 2.2 level AA

We design and test against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA as a minimum. We treat that as a floor, not a finish line, and we do not claim formal certification.

  • Text size control

Use the A− / A+ control in the header to increase text size across the whole site. Your choice is remembered in your browser. Your browser's own zoom also works, and the layout reflows without clipping content.

  • Keyboard access

Every link, button, menu and form field can be reached and operated with a keyboard. A visible focus outline shows where you are, and a skip link at the top jumps straight to the main content.

  • Screen reader structure

Pages use one main heading and a logical heading order, real landmarks, descriptive link text, labelled form fields, and error messages that are announced and linked to the field they belong to.

  • Colour and contrast

Text and interface colours are chosen to meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast. Colour is never the only way information is conveyed, because errors and states are also carried by text.

  • Motion

There is no autoplaying video, carousel or parallax. Transitions are short and reduce automatically if your device is set to reduce motion.

  • Images and language

Illustrations carry descriptive alternative text, decorative marks are hidden from screen readers, and pages are written in plain language and marked as Australian English.

Being honest

What we know is not perfect

Automated testing catches only part of what matters. Some barriers only show up when a real person tries to do a real task with their own setup, which is why the report link below matters more than any badge we could put on this page.

Long documents such as service agreements are provided in accessible formats on request, including large print. Ask for the format that works for you rather than adapting to ours.

If you need this information read to you, or want to complete a form by phone instead, say so and we will arrange it.

Found something that blocks you?

Tell us the page and what happened. Access barriers are treated as faults to fix, not requests to consider.
